I'm sorry We just went through this let down as well on a job that we put a lot into for DH to get and he got word that they selected another candidate just recently. It is a real bummer and it all does seem to be crashing down at times. The same week we found that the mortgage co is moving swiftly ahead regardless of the BK and we will probably need to be out sooner than later. Yikes.

It's ok though. We'll be ok. I agree that getting interviews is a fantastic sign and means that the right job is going to happen for you. I hope sooner than later.
    Stopped paying 8/2010, Filed 2/2011, 341 3/2011 done, Report of no distribution . . . Discharged & Closed 5/2011!

I have been in and out of work for 10 years now. I was 100% stable for the previous 15 years, never a problem, then bammmm non-stop instability with the career. Each time it takes months of constant job apps, interviews, etc. to get a job, then within 3 months to 6 months I lose the job and then it's all over again. I thought getting a degree would help, but its a similar pattern.

I constantly see stupid people out there with jobs and I wonder how the heck they can get a job and keep a job, yet quality people are out of work. It blows my mind.

I received a call from one of the companies I interviewed with. I know this position will not be very stable or last very long. They wanted my salary expectations. I gave them my salary history and said I am looking for something a little above that amount as the salary history was prior to me earning my degree. I also said we can negotiate and used that opportunity to mention flexibility in work schedule, etc. So now it's the waiting game.

But really I know I can find something better than this that will offer a stable work environment. So I am continually hammering the job boards like there is no tomorrow.

Hubby has been out of work for 11 months, has applied to over 1000 opportunities, has been on over 7 interviews (both live and phone) and this is the first one to call him the same day as his live interview to schedule another live interview. We are taking this as a good sign but trying not to get too excited.

If everyone could send happy vibes next Tuesday our way, it will be appreciated.

A job is the only thing holding us back from our fresh start.

We had our discharge last month we we hope this is our lucky month to move forward
I'm not religious person, but I'm praying for you!!!! All good wishes, vibes, fingers and toes crossed!!!!!

Because every post I read here said "tell them before they find out themselves" I waited till after the job offer and before filing out the paperwork where they were going to have credit check, background checks etc done.

I thought it was better that they here it from me vs seeing it on a piece of paper and letting me go because of it.

So do you think I should not have told them and just let it be?

Yes, they made me the job offer, then HR asked me to fill out all of the paperwork and that is when I disclosed I had some credit issues due to job loss and would that be an issue. They asked me what those credit issue were and told them I declared BK

If you were applying in the banking industry, or for a security clearance position, or any government position, it's required to disclose it. Since I have no desire to work with numbers or for the government, I would let them ask me, but that's just me.

I'm sorry this has happened to you.

I'm in finance, I was not applying for a government, bank, or security clearance position. Just a Finance Manager position working for a automotive company that had previously declared BK themselves.

You would think that they would understand, but I can also see this as them being even more careful who they bring in because of their own BK. Keep plugging, Fallon, there's something out there for you.
